Eternal Love!

A grand function was organized at Indira National School on Saturday, 15th Feb’10 to unveil the statue – ‘Mother and Child’. Honourable Chairperson of the Indira Group of Institutes Ms. Tarita Shankar unveiled the statue. Speaking on the occasion she said the statue symbolizes the purest from of love known to man.  The relationship between the Mother and Child is the only one in the world where the mother gives everything of herself without expecting anything in return. She further said the intention behind installing the statue was to remind all parents and teachers that the teachers at Indira National School care for their students in the same manner that a mother cares for her child.

To mark the occasion Principal of Indira National School, Mrs. Vijaya Joshi announced that 18 orphan children of Prerna Bhawan, (the orphanage run by the Missionaries of charity) would be admitted on the rolls of Indira National School from April 2010. The teachers of INS would train the children in various academic and non academic subjects. The school would also extend the facilities of the Computer lab, Science lab, Library and other infrastructure to these children. The staff of INS also contributed towards providing bags and books for the eighteen children. Yogi dresses the uniform supplier of the school presented the students with uniforms. Students of the choir group of INS presented the song ‘Mother of Mine’.

Sister Rose Nirmala of Prerna Bhawan extended her heartfelt thanks to the Indira Group for supporting the activities of the Prerna Bhawan.

The function was attended by Mr. Chetan Wakalkar Group Director, Indira Group as well as Trustees and Directors of the Indira Group.

The school is happy to have taken the first step to help the orphans of Prerna Bhavan. It is our ardent hope that other schools will follow in our foot steps.
